Bird Nest Cupcakes

These easy and adorable Candy Melts nests make great spring-themed cupcake toppers, but they can also be a sweet standalone treat without the cupcakes. Feel free to fill them with other types of candy or treats, such a jellybeans, marshmallow chicks, icing decorations, and more.

  1. Bake and cool cupcakes following recipe instructions for 12 cupcakes. Frost with homemade or prepared frosting.
  2. 2. Line the muffin pan with foil, carefully pressing the foil down into each cavity. Spray each cavity lightly with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. 3. Melt Candy Melts according to package directions. Place melted candy into a disposable decorating bag with the tip snipped off.
  4. 4. Drizzle loops inside and around the cavities of the foil-lined muffin pan to resemble a bird’s nest. Repeat with an additional layer or two so that the nests have some thickness, otherwise they may be too fragile.
  5. 5. Chill the pan in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes to harden.
  6. 6. Remove the foil from the top of the pan with the Candy Melts nests still on the foil. Carefully pull the foil away to remove the nests from the foil.
  7. 7. Place the nests on top of frosted cupcakes and add a few pieces of bird eggs candy to each nest.
